The Normal Heart explica la història de l’aparició de la crisis del VIH a la ciutat de New York a principis de 1980. Basada en l’obra teatral de Kramer, és una mirada sense quebrant sobre la política sexual dels Estats Units amb els activistes gays i la comunitat mèdica en lluita per exposar la veritat sobre la creixent epidèmia que plana sobre la ciutat i el rebuig de la nació.
